Nepal has been the focus of some of the most outstanding achievements in the world of mountaineering. For many decades the bold icy peaks have posed as challenge to those who dare. There are some 326 peaks in Nepal open for mountaineering today.
Trekking remains one of the most popular ways to spend time in Nepal. Take one of the various trekking routes that are widely popular such as the Annapurna Circuit, Everest Base camp trek, Mustang trek, Langtang trek, Annapurna base camp trek or try the routes recently discovered for the tourists like Machhapuchhare Model Trek. Or if you are daring enough, try attempt to summit the Mount Everest and other hightest mountains in the world. You can also go for short treks or may be hiking to places like Kakani, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Phulchowki, Nagarjun, Daman, Sarangkot and many more.

2.  Sightseeing
Nepal is foremost for natural beauty, arts and architecture. We have evidence of ancient arts in the form of durbar square located in three prime cities Kathmandy, Patan and Bhaktapur. Visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square that represent the arts and architecture of the Kathmandu valley during the reign of the Malla kings from the 16th to 18th century. They were the capitals of the fragmented Kathmandu valley at that time. The temples and stupas like the Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath have withstood changes of several centuries. They are regarded as part of the World Heritage sites.
Also outside Kathmandu beautiful heritage sites like the Janaki Temple in Janakpurand Gorkha Durbar in Gorkha are enough to mesmerize travelers from around the world. Make sure you view spectacular sunrises and sunsets from hill stations like Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Sarangkot (Pokhara), Daman and flat plains like Sauraha (Chitwan National Park).

3.  Adventurous Activities
Nepal is famous for adventures. Mostly tourist visit Nepal to try different adventure sports. Some of them are listed below:

      Rafting and Kayaking
Nepal is one of the best places in the world for river rafting. Numerous fine rivers offer excellent opportunities for rafting, canoeing and simply immersing oneself in the magnificent landscape. Rafting and kayaking in Bhote Koshi, Sunkoshi, Trisuli, Karnali, Marshyangdi, Seti and many more rivers are breath-taking. It is highly recommend. No, you don’t have to be a swimmer to try it. Experienced rafting guides will guide you all along.  Hire a boat or kayak from the shores of Lake Fewa and Begnas in Pokhara and enjoy the paddling amidst the serenity of nature.

      Bungy Jumping
The Bhote Koshi, one of Nepal's wildest rivers, rages below the steel suspension bridge that was specially designed for bungee jumping. If you want to experience the Bungee jumping on a 160 meters deep gorge made by Bhote Koshi near border with China then contact The Last Resort, only place where Bungy is available.

        Paragliding and Para hawking
You could also enjoy the stunning views of Fewa Tal and the himalayan peaks while paragliding and parahawking from Sarangkot in Pokhara. You can also enjoy the stunning views of the southern part of Kathmandu valley by paragliding in Kathmandu.

        Skydiving
Skydiving is also offered for professional divers from Pokhara and as well from Mt. Everest. Yes Nepal has the highest sky diving from Mt. Everest. Tandem skydiving starts at 29,500 feet and features the best ever view of Mount Everest. Your jump is taken care of by some of the most experienced sky divers out there so you can enjoy the ride and get the most from this spectacular skydive. Pokhara also offers skydiving free fall from about 14000 feet. Everest skydive is actually one that I personally one to try before I die.

       Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is also a means of enjoying your stay here. There are many routes in and around Kathmandu, Pokhara and other destinations as well. Nepal provides a challenging and pleasant scenic ride from the tropical plains of Terai, mid-hills, mountainous terrain and its lush valleys to the arctic climate of the high alpine region. The only way to realize these hidden treasures and its warm ever-smiling people is on mountain bikes. Mountain bikes are available for rent by the day or longer in many of the bicycle rental outlets in Nepal and around the city.

       Hot Air Balloning
Hot air ballooning is very popular with tourists for it gives the most spectacular bird’s-eye view of the Kathmandu valley and the Himalayan ranges towering in the background. On a clear day it’s a superb way to view the Himalayan (from over 6000m up), and the view of the valley is equally breathtaking.

        Jungle Safari
Go on a jungle safari (on a jeep or better yet on the great asian elephant) and view the One Horned Rhinoceros up close, and river crocodiles and occasionally even the Royal Bengal Tiger. Besides the rhinos, wild boars, samburs, spotted deer, sloth bear, four-horned antelope are also usually seen.

Nepal is also a heaven for bird watchers with countless varieties of birds in the Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park. Chitwan National Park is famous for its Elephant Breeding Centre, Gharial Breeding Center and don’t forget to enjoy the elephant bathing in the Rapti River.

          Zip Fly
Nepal has the world’s longest Zip Flyer in Pokhara. It not only provides thrill but shows the captivation beauty of our country. Zip-flyer has been constructed to link Sarankot and Hemja VDC.

4.  Cultural Activities
Nepal is diversified country. In spite of small size it has about 103 ethnic groups 115 languages and about 5 religions. The multidimensional cultural heritage embraces within itself the cultural diversities of various ethnic tribes and social groups in the form of music and dance, art and craft, languages and literature, festivals and celebrations and foods and drinks.
Nepal is a country of festivals and holidays. Participate in at least one of the many festivals that take place around the year. I have seen travellers enjoying festival of colours “Holi”, flying kites during Dashain, enjoying different jatras like Indrajatra, Ghodejatra, Gaijatra and so forth. Also one can enjoy cultural dance like kauda, lakhe dance etc.

  Recreational tours
Nepal, especially Kathmandu, Pokhara is a walkable city so you will enjoy roaming around the chaotic atmosphere and being positively overwhelmed by it. Try it, especially in the early mornings and early evenings you will love it.

Temples
Nepal is an house of Gods where culture has frozen in the time and space. The only country where you will find millions of God, Nepal has the only Living Goddess in the planet “Kumari”. Nepal is one of the biggest destinations for religious tourists throughout the year for both Hindus and Buddhists. Travellers come all the way just to worship Pashupatinath, Budhanilkantha and  stupas like Swayambhunath and Boudhanath, just to relive the ancient traditions. Some of them also visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Buddhists mainly visit the stupas and Lumbini. The sites are major hub for people during festivals like Shivaratri and Buddha Purnima. Nepal has several ancient pilgrimage sites. Each temple is attached to a legend or belief that glorifies the miraculous powers of its deity. Nepal is also the Gateway to Kailash Mansarovar, the mythical abode of Lord Shiva. Devotees from various parts of Nepal and India throng the temples during special festivals.

         Casinos
Gambling in casinos is popular with tourists, mainly from India. Those who get thrill just to visit casinos then Nepal is perfect destination as there are plenty of casinos, in almost all major 5 star hotels in the Kathmandu valley and Pokhara.

          Shopping
Nepal is an exotic shopping paradise! There are a great number of souvenirs to choose in Nepal. Most of them are handicrafts usually not found in other parts of the world. Buy gems, pashminas (special mountain goat wool wears), thangkas (buddhist paintings), handicrafts and other hand crafted sculptures and souvenirs. Most popular items include the traditional Thangka paintings (Buddhist paintings), Buddhist prayer wheels, Buddhist singing bowls and traditional silver jewelries of the mountains people.  A great variety of silver jewelries and semiprecious stones are available in Kathmandu on good prices. Cashmere/Pashmina shawls (high quality handmade shawls made of the  Himalayan goats' wool)  and the  famous Khukuri knives of the Gurkha soldiers are other popular souvenirs. You can buy great collection of Rudrakshya Malas and Shaligrams in Kathmandu.

Hand made, traditional rice paper items are other choice. Kathmandu is a great place to buy both Tibetan and Kashmiri (Persian type ) carpets.  For tea lovers we produce a great varities of Himalayan teas to enjoy back in home. Spices( for cooking) and Nepalese and Tibetan incense could be other souvenirs you may love to buy.

        Nepal’s Food
Nepal’s food is another reason to visit at least once. Its dishes have a rich South-Asian taste. Other edibles making it attractive for food lovers are lentils, pickles, organic meat, tomato sauces and much more. Another dish that has become identification of Nepal is Dhal Bhat which is not only a healthy food but also very cheap. Don’t ever go back from Nepal without tasting its excellent delicacies. Notably, the Nepali dishes (rice, lentils and curry), Newari (chatamari) and the Nepali- Tibetan dishes (momo, thukpa) are extremely popular with locals and travelers alike in Nepal.

           Ultra-light Aircraft and Mountain Flight
Ultralight aircraft take off from Pokhara and offer spectacular views of the lakes, mountains and villages. This is an ideal way to see life from a new perspective. The choice of Pokhara Valley for ultra-light aircraft is appropriate chiefly because of the proximity of the mountains, and the scenic lakes. Flights are from the Pokhara airport beginning September through June. The flights take place from sunrise to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to sunset every day during these months.

Only awe-stricken silence can come handy to matching the magnificent experience of going on a mountain flight to encounter the tallest mountains on earth. Mountain flights offer the closest possible aerial views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga and the Tibetan Plateau without the leg work by taking a scenic flight. Most domestic airlines arrange flights in light aircraft, and flights are also available from Pokhara and other locations west of the capital, flying over the spectacular Annapurna range. Mountain flights appeal to all category of travellers and have become a popular tourist attraction of Nepal. The best time for mountain flight is from October to June.

         Bird Watching
Nepal is a paradise for bird lovers with over 646 species (almost 8% of the world total) of birds, and among them almost 500 hundred species are found in Kathmandu Valley alone. The most popular bird watching spots in Kathmandu are Phulchoki, Godavari, Nagarjun, Bagmati river, Taudaha and so on. Go for bird watching in the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and Rara Lake in Rara National Park, Mugu. Both of these places are the resting places for the migratory birds during the winter in the northern hemisphere (December/January).

       Yoga and Meditation
Yoga and Meditation in Nepal is unique opportunity for those interested in the escalation of both the body and mind. Yoga and meditation helps in strengthening and opening the mind for greater relaxation and awareness all within the beautiful natural environment provided by the Nepal Himalayas. The Himalayas have played a big role in self-realization so Nepal is best destination for Yoga and Meditation. There are many yoga centers such as Kopan monastery, Vipasana Yoga center, Osho Tapoban, Himalaya International Yoga Academy - Banasthali etc, Pokhara, Lumbini, Tyangboche, Namobudhha and many others.

Many travelers in Nepal volunteer their time in the monasteries, orphanages, schools, health posts and hospitals, and communities. Combine volunteering with activities mentioned and you will certainly find much value of your time in Nepal.

     Homestay
Home stay in Nepal is an excellent activity to share the lifestyle, culture and tradition, arts and entertainment and above all the sharing, caring and loving the true humanity. Home stay is one of the most popular kinds of bed and breakfast with the typical Nepali family. The traditional hospitality of the Nepali  nation best way to observe many of the cultural activities of the region as well as a fun and adventurous way to experience the joys of outdoor life.

By profession I am a trekking guide seeking adventure in life, exploring new ideologies, thoughts, views and passion in life. I see a lot of scope for myself as a tourism entrepreneur by the reason of my love, passion and respect for the sector “tourism in Nepal” “LENS” is a key source of happiness in my life, I love to capture moments in my lens and be captured as a moment in the lens. I am highly ardent towards the field of modeling and fashion. I love to explore myself and develop myself as a person every day. I want to fly in life, run towards my goal and even want to fall down being a failure but I just don’t want to give up from the challenges I encounter in life and go on achieving my goals. I don’t want to take a pause in life. I am trying to be a arousing speaker, I can see that I can bring change through my voice and grab a lot of attention through the voice I raise.
